SUPERNATURAL PICSPAM

12 Reasons why young children should be forced to watch Supernatural.

Kids are so over that Sesame Street crap.

Photobucket

S1-S4.

Disclaimer: I have no children of my own, no intention of having children in the near future and no recent experience or training in child care or psychology. I have a lingering fear of dinosaurs after a viewing of Jurassic Park early in my life and for that reason do not endorse actually allowing young children view material with an adult rating recommendation such as Supernatural. Just give them enough classic horror to keep them in line.

Words of [info]pansylove wisodm: "Because every kid should want to grow to be a Winchester." Very true.

'Supernatural' child raising endorsement from [info]happy_overdose : "As soon as the puppies get squeezed out, I'm weaning them on Supernatural." That's the spirit!

Reason 1. Supernatural is pretty. Children like to looks at colours. There are four current season of Supernatural. They will be looking at colours for a long time. Delicious, delectable colours. Go get a pedicure.

Reason 2. Supernatural promotes violence physical activity and salmonella healthy eating.

Reason 3. Supernatural encourages children to engage with literature on a wide variety of topics.

No Dean, the Bible does not have a blurb.

Reason 4. Supernatural is educational. It is a good introduction to discussions of sex-ed and anatomically enlightening.

Reason 5. Supernatural often depicts those women conforming to Western society’s stereotype of beauty finding no fulfilment or happiness reinforcing that appearance wont save you from the YED isn’t everything. Also white nightgowns are a poor choice of sleepwear.

Reason 6. Supernatural also defies the social expectations of masculine behaviour in terms of repressing emotion.

Reason 7. Supernatural will encourage you child to be hardcore confident.

Hardcore button pressing IDK? I’d like to see you press a button in such an awesome way. I had the last picture edited and ready to go but for the life of me can't remember what category it was supposed to go under. Biscuit to whoever has a better idea of where it fitted. :D

Reason 8. Supernatural emphasises the importance of family and depicts a stable family life and environment [sic].

Reason 9. Supernatural and the associated misfortune it reaps upon the Winchester’s has the ability to humble even the bitchiest most spoilt child.

Reason 10. Supernatural is not void of young characters children can relate to. In fact, overall an important life message is portrayed: consult your parents before pursuing the occult.

I'm sure that last girl was the upstanding-citizen-girl-scout-weekend-volunteer-at-the-local-pound type before she was you know, possesed and such.

Reason 11. Supernatural contains many side characters who represent awesome in its purest form and hence, provide positive role models.

Why yes, Bobby's dog is a valid character and am I the only one who loved that waiter at the start of 'Wishful Thinking'?

Reason 12. Supernatural offers methods of logical and healthy problem solving to the associated difficulties and mental stress of being alive or being alive then dead then alive again or some alternate combination of the two which is also very…useful…to know….

Whut? They don't have a problem. Right Sam?

Photobucket

Nuh uh.

SPECIAL EXTRA: Supernatural promotes dental hygiene. Just in case you weren't convinced already of the shows potnetial worth to young minds. PAH.

So in conclusion: I reccomend introducing Supernatural into the primary schooling system. Don’t you trust these guys to be the best of influences on your children? Just looks at their rosy cheeks and wholesome expressions:

WIN! This is awesome! If I have kids, they will be familiar with Supernatural characters, plotlines and intimate details before they've even left the womb! I believe there are many valuable lessons to be learnt from Supernatural.

LOL, I spend so much time trying to convince my friends to watch shows I worship that if I have children there is a HUGE risk I will take advantage of my role and indoctrinate them with everything I like.
